After Google’s new regulations, the cost of registering a new and clean Gmail account will increase hundreds of times

After a major Google system-wide update in 2025, the misuse and hoarding of various accounts (especially Gmail accounts) was significantly impacted. Currently, a phone number only has 1-3 opportunities to verify Google accounts; after exceeding this limit, the phone number is officially retired.

Any Google account that hasn’t been logged in for a long time (the specific length of time is currently undisclosed) will be prompted to “verify” when attempting to log in again, as shown in the image below.

It is best to complete the human-machine verification and then enter the password verification stage. After entering the password accurately, click the next step.

After the password verification is successful, most account hoarders won’t link their phone number. Instead, they’ll use a recovery email address (or confirmation email address) to maintain and manage their accounts.

The system prompts you to verify your recovery email address. There are two options: receiving the verification code via the recovery email address, and confirming the recovery email address. We generally choose to confirm the recovery email address, as shown below.

To confirm your recovery email, enter the same one you previously registered. As long as it’s entered correctly, your confirmation is successful.

Before 2025, this method of confirming your recovery email was the lowest-cost and easiest way to manage your account, bar none.

After the secondary email is successfully confirmed, you will most likely need to verify your phone number (provide a valid phone code). Before 2025, there is a 90% chance that you can log in successfully after successfully receiving the code, as shown in the figure below.

As of the latest situation in 2025, even if you use the original very mature solution, it is very easy to prompt: Google cannot verify that this account belongs to you, please try again later, as shown in the figure below.

Currently, over a hundred Gmail accounts we’ve been preparing for years are affected by this risk control strategy, though a small number of them have been successfully verified.

For most accounts experiencing the issue shown above, the only solution is to log in again using the previously logged-in system.

After Google’s latest underlying policy adjustments, the cost of registering 50-500 clean Gmail accounts, which used to cost 50 yuan, now means you may not even be able to register a single clean account. The cost and barrier to entry have instantly increased hundreds of times, which will have a significant impact on our future overseas business.

Of course, registering ordinary spam Gmail accounts is still very easy. However, these accounts are completely useless for commercial purposes and contain numerous contaminants and connections.
